Lee is a Professor in the Department of Automotive Engineering at Tongmyoung University, where has been since 2019. He received a B.S. from Busan National University in 1997 and an M.S. from Busan National University in 2001 in Aerospace Engineering. He received his Ph.D. in the Mechanical Engineering from KAIST in 2013. From 2002 to 2015, he worked at Korea Automotive Technology Institute (KATECH) as a Senior Engineer. 
His research interests span both vehicle thermal management system (VTMS) and multi-physics analysis, which is coupled with a mechanical and an electric system. Much of his work has been on improving the understanding, design and performance behavior of the VTMS using multi-physics analysis.
